Monumental Moments

"After winning best international feature, I thought I was done for the day and was ready to relax, ... When I was young and studying cinema, there was a saying that I carved deep into my heart, which is that, 'The most personal is the most creative.' "- Bong Joon-ho

With each win, Joon-ho made history. His South Korean film "Parasite" was the first too won for Best Original Screenplay, his win for Best International Film was the first under the new name (previously titled "Best Foreign Film), and finally on Sunday night he became the first director from South Korea to win Best Director. He ended the night by fabulously exclaiming “I also thank everyone who allowed me to actualize my vision, ... Yeah, I’m ready to drink tonight … until next morning.” He was a true winner that night, and dazzled like one.

Other Big Winners Worth Mentioning:

Best Actor: Joaquin Phoenix

Best Actress: Renee Zellweger
