Another One?? Every year enduring the same game, until the half-time show and commercials come on!

I love the Superbowl as much as the next girl who pretends to enjoy it for her dad or boyfriends sake. To me the Superbowl is about family-friend gatherings, FOOD, the excitement that fluttered through the room before kickoff, the laughter that erupted during funny commercials, and the electric or cringy moments that occurred in the half-time performance.

"There were energetic dance moves, surprise performers, some crowd surfing, pole dancing and plenty of hits as the pair co-headlined."- CNN reporter on this years Half Time performance by JLo and Shakria

As a feminist and a supporter of both of these woman I GREATLY appreciated this years halftime show! I was dancing, singing, and cheering along the entire time. Infact everyone in the room with me was so elated to see them killing their performance. I hope to be as beautiful and entertaining as both of them at their age and after having kids!

Empowering Statements

Although many people on twitter are saying that the performance was "too Latin" and "too provocative" for an American audience, I believe that it set the perfect tone. The Superbowl was held in the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, a city dominated by a Latino population. The performers being from Latin countries represented a wider demographic and reached a global audience. The diversity in Miami is very important to their culture.

Many people were angered by the outfits, the dance moves, and the sex appeal that was shown during the performance stating that during this #metoo movement it was too derogatory. I believe that these woman represented their culture through their dance moves and were able to show that as woman, we can still be sexy and not be objectified.
